Now this Cash for Clunkers program is a success supposedly. I have a few problems with this program. The whole point is to get GAS GUZZLING cars off the countries roads and put NEW gas efficient cars out there.
Well the economy is sucking ass right now and now many people want to add a new car note to their already high ass expenses. Anyway you got to meet a check list to qualify for the clunkers program:
• Must have been manufactured less than 25 years before the date you trade it in
• Must have a “new” combined city/highway fuel economy of 18 miles per gallon or less
• Must be in drivable condition and
• Must have been continuously insured and registered to the same owner for the full year preceding the trade-in
Now, Does your car have to actually be a “clunker” NOPE. you can turn in your 2007 Lexus if you want because they are going to destroy this perfectly good engine when it goes to the bone yard regardless.
Yes!!! a perfectly good running car. That can be resold maybe even…wait for it…DONATED to charity, which you can write off on your taxes and SAVE you money, but No they pour some shit in the engine and total the car on the spot just so you can get up to $4,500 towards a new fuel efficient car.
Now you take that $4,500 and put it towards a 2009 Honda Accord with a price tag of 28,705 fully loaded, Go big right, $24,205 left oh the payments.
Well $2 billion has been added to the Cash for Clunkers program so get it while you can.
PLEASE keep in mind read the fine print, if you have to ask you cant afford it. Debt is nothing to play wit.
